Today we had our first class of wood work. This class is held by Erin Offenbacher owner and operator of OCF Philly, Custom Woodworking. The class is held in their shop upstairs. I love the comfy, setting that she has created for the kiddies.
We arrived at the shop a few minutes early. Which was great, because it gave Jackson some time to get comfy in a new setting. Erin had set up a table for the kids with Play-Doh some tools, wood cuts, rolling pins and many more little tools for the kiddies to play with.
There was also a table set up with wood blocks for the littles to build.
And build he did!
Erin started by gathering the littles on the rug. The rug that was set up by the littles. I love how comfy and cozy this story time is. The story is tied to the wood activity that they will create.
Such a good story! They are all sucked into the book.
Wood comes from trees was a discussion on the rug today. So off they go to construct their own trees.
Each little was given a round piece as the top of the tree, and glued different small pieces of wood of different shapes to create the leaves or other things that in your tree.
Next, they painted the wood. And used little chips and crayons to add their names to their trees.
What a great class! We are excited to be part of this class, and can not wait to do it again.
