Philadelphia Maternity Studio Photography: Rayven's Photoshoot
I first chatted with this mama for her maternity photoshoot in my Philadelphia studio. From our first conversation, I can hear the excitement she had in her voice to capture this time for herself. This first time mama and college student wanted a studio session to express her strength and beauty.
Along the way, we had some small chats on what maternity dresses or clothes she wanted to wear. Her vision was not a casual look/style with like maternity jeans, but more glamour.
When she arrived in the studio, we sat down and discussed some maternity dresses she had found on line, I still remember she loved this dress that was on the cover of a magazine, and said she loves the dress but understood I would not have it. But- I did! Her smile and joy lit upon the room! This is what I love abut my job, making a mom this excited for something.
Along with her the stunning dress that she choose, we did some playing with fabric. Using fabric during your maternity photoshoot allows for so much creativeness. You can make a dress with it or just toss it. I love that we captured her beauty, and emotions in her session.
How amazing is this fabric toss!!! What I love about fabric is you can never duplicate it. Fabric will never fall the same way two times. So in a way - it's very unique to each mama.
A few days before her session she reached out and mentioned her boyfriend was going to join us. My mind immediately started racing with some creative shots, and she was a little hesitant thinking he would go along with them.
After a little chatting in the studio we warmed up and he went along with some suggestions. I am so thrilled he did. I think he added such beauty and love to their story.
Throughout the session, this mama had such a beautiful calmness about her, that you just wanted to sit by bedside and chat it up. I love that I captured her calmness and beauty in her portraits.
Im so thrilled this mama loved her experience and her portraits. I was so honoured when they came back with their sweet little one. I am looking forward to seeing them for the cake smash!
